The main cause of unpleasant odor is the perspiration of the feet. Sweat promotes the development of bacteria. It is necessary to take care of your feet. You should regularly and thoroughly wash and dry your feet, even if you are at home all day wearing only flip flops.
If you suffer from excessive sweating of the feet, before putting on the shoes sprinkle your feet with powder that will absorb the moisture.

Another way to deal with the smell is the white vinegar. In the household it is used for the removal of smells. Soak a pair of socks in white vinegar and place them inside the shoes. Put the shoes in a plastic bag for 24 hours. Then remove the shoes, get the soaked socks out and leave the shoes for eight hours in a well-ventilated place.
Crumpled newspaper and vanilla is a great combination to remove odors from shoes. Crumple sufficient quantity of paper to fill the shoes, but before you put it inside sprinkle it with vanilla. The newspaper will slowly absorb the smell and will add vanilla aroma. For best results leave the newspaper and vanilla to work for one day.
Coffee beans absorb smells and freshen up shoes, thanks to their aroma. Put grinded coffee in a filter and place it in the front of the shoe. Allow to work 24 to 48 hours. Carefully remove the filter and leave the shoes for a little while at a ventilated place.
